Privacy Policy

PauseSip is an iPhone app for planning evenings and drinking less. It is made by Cuong Do ("we"). This policy explains what happens to information when you use the app and this website.

The short version

  • PauseSip works offline and has no account. There is nothing to sign up for.
  • Your plans, drinks, notes and settings stay on your iPhone. We do not have a server that receives them, and we cannot see them.
  • The app sends anonymous usage statistics through TelemetryDeck, which you can turn off in the app.
  • Purchases are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details.
  • There are no ads and no tracking across apps or websites.

Information that stays on your iPhone

Everything you enter in PauseSip is stored only on your device, in the app's own storage and in an App Group container that lets PauseSip's widgets and Lock Screen display read it. This includes your evening plans (event type, name, start time, limit, home-by time and the lines you write for turning down a drink), the drinks you log, dry days, Morning Note answers and notes, your weekly settings and your goal.

We do not receive this information. It is not uploaded to us or to any service we run. It is included in your iPhone backups (iCloud or computer) the same way as other app data, under Apple's terms.

You control it in the app:

  • Export: Settings > Your data > Export history creates a CSV or JSON file that you choose where to share or save.
  • Delete: Settings > Your data > Delete all data removes everything PauseSip stored on the device. Deleting the app also removes it.

Anonymous usage statistics (TelemetryDeck)

To understand which features are used and to find problems, PauseSip sends a small number of fixed usage signals (for example, that the app was opened, that a plan was saved, or that you chose to pause) to TelemetryDeck, an analytics service based in the European Union. Each signal carries the signal name with at most one closed parameter (for example source=quickPlan), an anonymized identifier for the app installation, the device model, the iOS and app version, your language and region, session statistics, and the plan bought (yearly, monthly or lifetime). TelemetryDeck records when each signal arrives, so it can tell roughly when the app was used; it is not linked to you. The app removes the hour, weekday, date and time zone that the analytics library would otherwise add to each signal. TelemetryDeck says it does not store IP addresses.

These signals never include the number of drinks, your plans, the lines you write, event names, notes or any other content you enter.

You can turn this off at any time in Settings > Privacy > Share anonymous usage. When it is off, the app sends nothing.

Face ID

If you turn on Face ID lock, iOS checks your face or passcode. PauseSip only receives a yes or no answer from iOS. Your biometric data never reaches the app or us.

Notifications

Reminders (for example "Your plan for 7:30 PM is ready." or the optional morning check-in) are scheduled on your iPhone. They are off or discreet by default and contain no drink counts. No notification content is sent to us.

Purchases

PauseSip Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment and tells the app whether you have Pro. We do not receive your name, Apple Account, or payment details. Apple's privacy policy applies to the purchase: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

To confirm what you bought, our purchase partner RevenueCat (based in the United States) receives the App Store receipt and an anonymous app user ID. It does not receive your name or payment details, and it does not use this to track you. RevenueCat's privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy

This website

This website does not use cookies for tracking or advertising and does not run analytics scripts. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security, for a short period.

If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply, and we delete the conversation when it is no longer needed.

Children

PauseSip is for adults of legal drinking age in their country (21 or older in the United States). It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Your rights

Because your app data stays on your device, you can view, export and delete it yourself in the app. For questions about anything we might hold (such as an email you sent), contact us at support@pausesip.com.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top and, for important changes, mention it in the app's release notes.
